Loteprednol is a new glucocorticoid that can be used to treat corticosteroid-sensitive inflammation such as eyelid and bulbar conjunctivitis, uveitis, inflammation of the cornea and anterior segment.
The high fat solubility of this product makes the cornea more permeable, and it is easily hydrolyzed into inactive organic acids. It can be quickly metabolized into inactive products after eye drops, reducing systemic toxicity. Compared with other glucocorticoids Hormones have stronger anti-inflammatory effects and less effect on increasing intraocular pressure, so they are safer and more effective.
